From Hahei, there is a walking track to Cathedral Cove (about 2.5 km) which is about an hour and a half return trip. On the way to Cathedral Cove you will have plenty of stunning coastal views of the offshore islands, and the glittering sea. The track then crosses pasture and scrubland, before sloping downhill to Cathedral Cove. Cathedral Cove itself is a beautiful sandy beach, with a large archway which has been carved out of the rock cliffs by the waves.
You can also do side trips to Stingray Bay and Gemstone Bay, by following the signs from the Cathedral Cove track. Gemstone Bay has a bouldery beach, with a snorkel trail, and Stingray Bay has some large boulders, but a beautiful sandy beach as well.
